The Best Love Story Ever

Today I decided that it might not be a bad idea to start a family blog, The Mitchell Shofar.  The purpose of this blog is to keep friends and family up to date on the Mitchell family happenings.  So please feel free to add us to your favorites and save us to your pages.
It's been just over a year since Ben and I got married and a lot has happened since.  Allow me to fill you in.  But, I suppose, I should start at the beginning.  Everyone enjoys a good love story. Right?
It all began when I was working as a cashier at the local Alco store.  A fisherman would come in once in awhile for bait and, unbeknownst to me, he fell in love with the shine in my eyes.  He told me later that when he looked into my eyes they tugged on his heart.  He believed right then and there that he had found his soul mate.  So the gentleman began to pray that I would start to work at the bus garage where he worked so he could get to know me better.
About the time he started praying, I started looking into driving school bus.  I was completely unaware of Ben's prayers.  I started working at the bus garage in September of 2013 and loved it.  One year later, Ben, his friend LeeRoy, and the boss, Bob were talking about taking me ice fishing with them.  Ben was the only one to ever extend that invitation to me.
So in November, we started fishing together.  On one of these fishing trips he asked me if I would ever consider going out with him.  I said, "No! Absolutely not!!" (He was twice my age.)  But during my prayer times, the Almighty kept bringing Ben to the forefront of my mind.  I kept telling Yahweh (God's name is Yahweh), "No.  I want to marry someone young so we can grow old together!"
Every day Yahweh would bring Ben to the front of my thoughts and every day I would tell Him no.  Finally, I got so tired of telling Him no that I finally said, "Ok, ok.  I will go out with Ben and if he is who you have for me he will move alongside me. But if he is not, move him out of the way."
We started dating in January and in my prayers I asked Yahweh that 5 changes take place in Ben's life if he was the one for me to marry.  Within 3 months each and every change I asked for took place and then, March 7th, we were getting ready to go to the gun range.  Ben was digging around in his dresser for his ammo.  Which made no sense to me.  Then, he turned around and opened his ammo box.  Inside was a beautiful ring.  My heart stopped.  And Ben asked me, "Will you marry me?"
That spring we went to Texas and Missouri to visit my family.  They all loved Ben and he fit right in.  Mom gave him a hug and told him she gave him her blessing.  And Ben and I fell more and more in love.
We got married on September 13, 2015, at Ramsey Falls overlooking the waterfall.  It was a beautiful fall day.  The weather could not have been more perfect.  I walked down the aisle to Teshuva's song Arms of Love.  And we couldn't have been happier.
The reception was a little less perfect.  Ben and I showed up and had to wait for the best man to go back for his car.  We ate.  The dance got held up and so the gentleman standing in for my dad had to leave before the father/daughter dance.  I started crying and couldn't stop so I went and hid in the bathroom.  My maid of honor proved very helpful at  this time and attempted to cheer me up.  Finally we got the dance started with Ben and I dancing to J. J. Heller's song Until You Came Along.
Later the guests all started to leave and since Ben was saying goodbye to family and friends I helped my maid of honor clean up a bit.  When Ben was ready to go she told me to leave, saying she had everything covered.  So Ben and I left for our honeymoon suite where things fell apart even more.
I was crying hysterically and couldn't figure out why.  Ben just sat there and stared at me.  When I finally sat next to him, he put his hand on my knee.  I blurted out, "Don't touch me!"  And then it dawned on me.  I was hormoning.  So we had a relaxing Jacuzzi and tried to move on.
We left for our actual honeymoon the next day and headed to my favorite town, Mitchell SD.  We drove the scenic route through the bad lands.  Spent a few days at Keystone and saw Mount Rushmore.

Then we drove to the Grand Canyon and stayed there for two days.  We got to fly over it in a helicopter.  That was the highlight of my trip.

From there we spent a week in Albuquerque NM. and did some random exploring.

Then it was on to Texas to visit my brother Jonathan, Oklahoma to spend three days at Sukkot with my sister Sarah and her family.  And finally stopped in at Mom and Dad's in Missouri on our way home.

It was a very long road trip.

We found our state flag and column at Mount Rushmore.
